sprouting is a process which increases nutrient levels and makes sprouts richer in protein, magnesium, phosphorus, folate, manganese and vitamins C and K than un-sprouted plants .Sprouts contain chlorophyll, which cleanses and oxygenates your body and the enzymes in sprouts helps in digestion and its fiber content lowers blood cholesterol levels. The properties of sprouts help in detoxifying the body and helps in weight loss


Method

  1. In a pan heat oil and add pinch of asafoetida and finely chopped garlic and ginger and saute and then add onions, green chilies and saute till the the onions become translucent.
  2. Meanwhile wash moong sprouts.
  3. Then add tomatoes , coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder to the pan.
  4. Mix everything nicely.
  5. Add mixed sprouts, salt & add 1 cup water.
  6. Cover and cook on a low flame till the moong sprouts are cooked .
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve sprouts with roti.

Ingredients

Mixed sprouts -35g

Tomato -25g

Onion (chopped) -15g

Garlic (finely chopped) -1 tsp

Ginger (finely chopped)- 1 tsp

Green chilli (chopped) -1

Coriander powder- ½ tsp

Garam masala powder- ½ tsp

Turmeric powder ¼ tsp

Cumin powder- ¼ tsp

Red chilli powder -¼ tsp

Asafoetida ¼ tsp

Coriander leaves for garnish

Oil ½ tsp

Water as required

Salt to taste
